The Template is the most important thing for any blog. Blogger users need to apply custom templates because the default templates by Blogger are not professional and good looking. When I was a beginner, I didn't know how I could Install a Custom Template in Blogger. Now, I decided to create this tutorial post for beginners so that they may not feel any difficulty to use Blogger.
Downloading a Template
- There are many websites providing Free Blogger Templates but the best one is Templateism.com. We'll use this site for the tutorial
- Go to the above mentioned website
- Choose the template, that you like and click on it.
- A next page will be opened, you can Preview your template by clicking on Live Preview button
- Click on Download Free button to download it.
- It will be compressed in WinRaR. You have to extract it
- Right click on the file that you have downloaded.
- Click on Extract Here.
- After extracting, find a file of .xml format in the folder.
Installing The Template
- Sign in to your Blogger account and go to Template tab.
- Now, you'll see Backup/Restore button at the top right side of screen. Click on it.
- A pop up box will appear, click on Browse and select that .xml file and then click on Upload button.

Downloading a Template
Sometimes, you need to download your complete template as a backup because when you try to add a gadget or customize the template, then a little mistake can destroy the coding of Template. In this case, you have an option to restore the template. Here's the tutorial to take a complete backup of your Blogger Template.- All the tutorial is same as installing a template but when a pop up window appears then, you have just to click on Download full template instead of clicking on Upload.
- Save the file where you want.
